Hi all... I would just like to update you
with all the latest news ...it's been very hectic
of late... FIRST though, a big thank you for all the mails,
calls, encouragement and feedback to the current "Bleggae" campaign...
Oliver Hendrix is now a strapping 8 months old, and Jemima , now 3, is singing my new song “The Jim Clark Festival Malt” at the top of her lungs. She knows most of the words, though (I hope) she doesn’t know what they mean…
Played an unusual gig at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in honour of the Jaguar XK 60 year anniversary, on August 8 and 9. Surrounded by beautiful examples of these iconic cars we performed a song whose lyrics are composed entirely of Murray Walker misquotes, or “Muddly Talker” as Sir Stirling Moss calls him. Stirling and his Lady Susie witnessed the performance with big grins and tapping toes, and promptly went off to sneak on me to Murray, who was the other guest of honour there!
He took it in excellent humour, and allowed me to interview him on camera, for my upcoming DVD “Lap Of Honour”. What a lovely, enthusiastic chap he is. No wonder he is so loved by superstars and “regular folk” alike. Stirling Moss sat in on the interview, which was great.
Meanwhile I have just completed “The Jim Clark Festival Malt”, a musical and photographic tribute to my boyhood hero, on DVD. It features 3 original songs with motor Racing as their theme, and over 60 original photos. Jim died at the wheel of his Lotus 40 years ago, and I am also offering, in his honour, the superb “Jim Clark Malt” single cask whisky, sourced from the Glen Moray distillery. Read all about it by clicking on the feature on the homepage…and enjoy it while you can!
